The Pilven family legacy

Ruby is the owner and manager of the Ross Creek Gallery, situated next to her studio. Ross Creek Gallery is intergenerational, and deeply rooted in place — a continuation of the Pilven family’s creative story, and an open invitation to experience art on Wadawurrung Country. Visit the Gallery.

The Process

Drawing on her printmaking background, Ruby often marries her passion for printmaking and ceramics in her jewellery and ceramics work by creating layers of colour and pattern

The Nerikomi Technique

Her work is a contemporary twist on the Japanese technique called Nerikomi, hand-building with coloured clay.

The Balance

Ruby's work oscillates between structured techniques and chance operations.
