We invite you to apply for ‘Infuse Art Prize’ held at the Ross Creek Gallery in December 2024.

This exhibition offers you an exciting opportunity to step out of your artistic comfort-zone and work with a fellow artist creating an interesting collaborative artwork! To infuse your ideas and inspire each other and your community with your creative skills.

The purpose of the Infuse Art Prize is to foster collaboration among artists, facilitating the exchange of skills and knowledge. By encouraging mutual learning, we aim to build a resilient and interconnected art community that sparks meaningful conversations within the artistic sphere.

There will be a $3,000 cash prize for the winning collaborative artwork, judged by Art Gallery of Ballarat curator Julie McLaren.

Artworks can be 2D or 3D. If 2D it must be ready to hang (have wires or be framed) and if 3D, it must be able to sit on floor or plinth. Maximum sizes 70 x 70 cm for either 3D or 2D. Artworks can be any medium.

$50 for each entry and 20% commission on any sold work. Applications are now open and will close on October 25th 2024. Applications will be judged by a team of artists and curators. All entrants will be notified on November 1st of the success of their entry.

Exhibition will run from December 6th until 22nd 2024. Opening night is Friday December 6th at 6-8pm. Winner announced that evening by Julie McLaren.

You have 9 months to get creative and collaborate people! Infuse those skills and ideas, and make a joint artwork!


LOCATION:

Ross Creek Gallery, 183 Post Office road, Smythes Creek, VIC, 3351, AUSTRALIA.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The artwork entered must be collaborative as in made by 2 or more artists.

All artworks must measure under 70 x 70 cm, INCLUSIVE OF frames/display apparatus.

All artworks can be 2-Dimensional or 3-Dimensional. All mediums are accepted: ceramic, glass, painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and mixed media.

You can enter as many different entries as you wish but each entry is $50.

The artist statement must be 100-250 words. It will be used for judging contention and will be displayed in the exhibition.

It is the artists responsibility to ensure their artwork does not infringe on copyright.

Gallery commission on all artwork sales of 20% apply. This includes GST.

Artists are encouraged to insure their work if they are concerned.

National and international artists welcome.

Artists must be aged 16 years and older. 

The decision of the selection panel and judge is final.

Copyright or licensing of each artwork must belong to the artist. 

Ross Creek Gallery will not accept content that is obscene in any way, pornographic, indecent, inflammatory, defamatory or racist to any person or group of people. 

Entry fee of $50 is non-refundable. 

Ross Creek Gallery reserves the right to cancel any entries or not display work that is in breach of any of the Terms and Conditions.

JUDGING

Artworks will be assessed by one or more of the following criteria:

  • Clear collaboration and infusion of ideas by both artists involved.

  • Displaying exceptional technical prowess in artistic execution.

  • Achieving aesthetic excellence in the visual presentation.

  • Communicating a concept with clarity and brevity in artistic expression.

  • Embracing innovation in approaching your chosen artistic medium.

The decision of the judge is final. Judged by Julie McLaren, curator of the Ballarat Art Gallery.

The winner will receive $3000 in cash and a $150 Carbonis Voucher, $300 BMHE voucher and $200 Avalon Nursery voucher.

There will also be a $200 Northcote Pottery Supplies Voucher awarded to the best ceramic collaborative artwork.


SELECTION

Unfortunately, not all artworks entered will be accepted into the prize. Artworks will be selected by a team of artists and curators involved in the prize. Their decision is final.
